Located in the Faubourg Blanchot, you will first discover the famous “Maison Célières” and learn about the history of Paul-Joseph Célières, who after migrating to New Caledonia and marrying his wife Marie built this expensive house in 1898.
Learn about the history of the Célières family, life during the early days of settlement in New Caledonia and understand the smart architecture of colonial houses.
Following this visit, the tour will lead you to some of the hidden gems of Faubourg Blanchot: your guide will make you discover beautiful colonial houses you wouldn’t have spotted otherwise, before you will be offered a lunch in one colonial house, restored as a gourmet restaurant « L’Arlequin”.
